Born in 1976 in Spain to an Italian father and an Argentine mother, Samantha Barendson now lives in Lyon. Like her, her writing moves from one language to another.
A poet and novelist, she especially enjoys collaborating with other artists—visual artists, photographers, dancers, and musicians. She then loves to recite, perform, or sing her works on stage, though she’s a bit frustrated that she isn’t a tango singer.
She is a member of the collective *Le syndicat des poètes qui vont mourir un jour* (The Union of Poets Who Will Die One Day), whose main goal is to promote poetry for everyone, everywhere. She is also part of the collective *Le cercle de la maison close* (The Brothel Circle), which presents performances combining poetry, music, and visual arts.
Since 2016, Samantha has been part of the *Versopolis* project, selected by *Le Printemps des Poètes* (The Spring of Poets), to tour several European festivals.
