Let’s say you are watching this performance on your own and something the storyteller says reminds you of a certain memory, and there is no one to turn to and share it with, how would you feel? This solo performance is a constant attempt to turn and find someone to talk to, about childhood stories, failed dates, the remains of grief, gender feels, and that one joke that is charming in its simplicity.
A solo performance written and performed by Dima Mikhayel Matta

I have been thinking about loneliness for quite some time. You would think that this would exist in opposition to witnessing - if we are lonely, we are likely not witnessed, or incapable or unable to witness an event or moment with other people.

Olivia Laing wrote, "loneliness, I began to realize, was a populated place." So there is a "we" in loneliness. I just don't know where to place it yet, or maybe more accurately, where it has already been placed in relation to me. To us?

Toni Morrison writes, "to witness is to carry what others cannot bear even when it threatens to consume you."

It has consumed me.
