A writing workshop offered and led by Aurélie Olivier and Nelly Slim, as part of the 6th edition of Poetik Bazar.
The workshop will be held at the Maison des Arts in Schaerbeek, where an exhibition entitled "Habiter la maison" (Inhabiting the House) will also be on display, to which the authors make a connection/nod to this workshop.
Our speakers
Aurélie Olivier
Aurélie Olivier was born in 1986 in Trégrom (Côtes d’Armor) and lives in Aubervilliers. In 2021, she initiated and wrote the preface for the book *Lettres aux jeunes poétesses*, published by Éditions de l’Arche. *Mon corps de ferme* (2023), her first collection, and *CORDON TOMBE* (2025) were published by Éditions du Commun. These two works inspired the creation of reading-performances, conceived in collaboration with graphic designer Anne-Lise Bachelier and composer Camille Lacroix, respectively. She has also contributed to the anthologies *Bonjour Poésie* (published by On ne compte pas pour du beurre) and *Nullipares et alors ?* (published by Points Seuil), as well as to literary journals such as *Sabir*, *Papier Machine*, and *Cockpit*. Through the association Littérature, etc., founded in 2013, she has organized several literary festivals and launched the podcast *Les Parleuses*, which revisits the history of literature.
Nelly Slim
Nelly Slim is an author, performer, and therapist. Published in 2025, her first novel, *Between Here and Before There Is the Sea*, explores the themes of migration and uprooting. It was awarded the Gouincourt Prize for Lesbian Literature. She is also co-author of the collection *It’s Been Lovely but I Have to Scream Now*—an anthology of a queer and feminist fanzine—and served on the editorial board of the decolonial journal *Comme nous brûlons*. Her writing also appears in short-form pieces published in magazines such as *Censored*, *Woman Journal*, and *Foehn*. Her performances extend her artistic practice with a focus on ritualistic practices.
