Rien ne sera parfait is a long poem whose twists and turns record the certainties, doubts, and setbacks of a woman facing imminent environmental catastrophe, the collapse of life and all its societies.

Disasters do not lie, and the poet attempts to understand their truths. Faced with the ogre, she wants to cry out, leading her away from terror and resignation and toward an ecological feminism that sees the world's great imbalance as an opportunity for vital renewal.

Isabelle Gaudet-Labine advocates for poetry that is open to dialogue and the future, baring its teeth through bold imagery.
