I took my seat on the Night Train that travels through time. I am alone in car 73. Outside, it is pitch black, as it is every day, and every day is the same. One could die from being stuck in one's seat. One could die, but I saw something. I speak up and say I thought I saw something through the window. That thing was... like... like dawn.

I F 41 A Dony Train de nuit 1cover

Aurélien Dony invites you for a reading of his latest collection, Train-Nuit: arriving on the platform, on any given day when fatigue clouds our eyes, we take the wrong train, we get the wrong schedule, the wrong track, the wrong route. And there we are in the tunnel of days where we know nothing more about our fellow passengers, nothing more about blood, tears, joys, bodies, and loves... nothing about car 72, car 74. Stuck in the eternal moment of our dark night. But the light outside, that dawn shining on the plain... we have seen it, we want to talk about it.

After Amour Noir and La Plaine, Aurélien continues on his path of oral storytelling, offering us, with this poetic tale, a sensitive exploration of our times.

He is accompanied in this reading by guitarist Jérôme Paque.

Our speakers

Aurelien Dony

Aurélien Dony

Poet, stage director, and writing workshop facilitator, Aurélien Dony is dedicated to exploring the possibilities of language. He multiplies poetic experiments with a single aim: to probe the potential of the poem. On stage, with Absolu Théâtre — which he co-directs with Charly Simon — he blends poetic text with dance and live music. In his writing, he explores, in various forms, the relationship to the body, to multiple forms of love, and to the intensity of being in the world. He has published several poetry collections, including Amour Noir (maelstrÖm reEvolution, 2021) and Grammaire du vide (l’Arbre à paroles, 2023). Train-Nuit is his first narrative work, published in the iF collection by Abrapalabra.
