Music meets poetry meets music
Musicians with roots in six different countries have set a classic piece from their language area to music in Dutch and have also translated a canonical Dutch poem into their own languages. After the premiere in Ghent, the musicians with roots from Ghana, Iran, Morocco, Nepal, Palestine, and Turkey received a standing ovation. The result is a harmonious cross-pollination between music and literature, between language and culture, where the international poetic tradition merges with the Dutch literary canon. The universal power of music and poetry opens doors and connects people. "WOW! How incredibly beautiful this is," poet and translator Annemarie Estor remarked. This multilingual concert is presented for the first time in Brussels at Poetik Bazar.
