Coming from a small town in southern Spain with a background in biology, Julia hasn’t yet realized that she lives in a major capital, so you’ll find her spending her time in Brussels as if she were living in a village: a long walk as the best plan for a Friday night, and a coffee at 10:30 AM as the ultimate leisure. And above all, poetry! Brussels becomes a fascinating city as soon as it unfolds its vibrant landscape of open mics. Poetic prose or stand-up comedy, Julia loves being part of slam scenes for their kindness and strength.
Writing also takes her into collective endeavors. A series of conversations since 2022 have marked the draft of a writing-research project on the connection of intergenerational intimate imaginaries, around lesbian sexuality*. There is thus a question vibrating at the center of her constant search through words: What is the meeting point between the intimate and the expansive? Where is the center?
